Our local newspaper outlined the mess we've had in the past 3 weeks.

First there was the 18" of snow we got a couple days before Christmas, then there was the ice storm a week later, then there was the flood a week after that.

Thousands of people lost electricity over the past few weeks due to these storms.  Many lost power for a week or longer in the snow storm.  Trees, limbs, and power lines were down all over the region with the ice storm.  Many of our friends lost power for 2-4 days from that ordeal.  Now the flooding...closed roads...more power outages...and many homes and businesses damaged.

Do we dare ask the question "what's next"?

We took a few backroads trying to get back to State Route 603. Well...we found it.

If you would've been able to turn right at that stop sign, there a little store, but we're sure it's under water now.

Amazing! We did find State Route 603 though...kinda.

Lot's of peole were out driving around taking pictures. Would've been neat to see via boat if it wasn't so dang cold out.

We have friends that were effected by this flood. Unfortunately, their business didn't carry flood insurance. I'm sure a lot of people are in the same situation. I know it's not something that I would've thought of.

In the distance you can see Charles Mill Lake and flooded fields.

Jay has been watching that water line for the past 10 minutes while I'm taking photo's. He's trying to figure out if it's rising or falling. Isn't that kinda like "a watched pot never boils"?

Believe it or not, there's a baseball field under that water.

This is on SR 603 again in Mifflin, Ohio. US 30 is about 1/4 of a mile from here. The owner of this property has 2 hoses and a pump running trying to bail water out of the house. Not much you can do about those sheds though.

State Route 430 and State Route 603 intersection. I got a speeding ticket right here when I was 16 years old.

See the sign out there for Charles Mill Lake Park? My inlaws have a trailer they keep there all year long. We wanted to check it out, but obviously can't get there.

Good thing we have a digital camera and can take a lot of pictures!

This was taken from the parking lot of a restaurant called "The Cabin". It's located off of SR 603 near Charles Mill Lake Dam. It's supoose to be a field.

Another shot from "The Cabin" parking lot. The steady stream coming from the trees was pretty wild. It just kept rushing into the field through that path in the trees. That defined path is actually a road though.

Another shot from the parking lot.

Another picture from the restaurant. SR 603 is closed about a block away. Imagine that!

We took several more backroads until we finally came out on the other side of the dam on SR 603. I thought it'd be flooded down there too, however, they had closed off the dam for awhile and we got lucky and could get to the dam!

A not so good photo of trying to look over the edge.

Looking over the edge into the water. Checkout the big stump and debris twirling around down there.

Not so good shot of the gauge on the side of the wall. It measured us at 28 foot currently.
